I have had correspondence and briefing papers from the Caribbean Banana Exporters Association about the "Banana Crisis", saying:This is a time of great anxiety for the Caribbean - and particularly for those states whose economies are largely dependent on their banana exports to Europe.

However, the Government must be seen to be getting behind a fair and equitable solution to the Banana Crisis that Britain actively supports and encourages.
