What my hon. Friend may have noticed is that this year we cut some other services' budgets more sharply than we cut that of the probation service, but that is because the previous Government had been cutting the probation service budget pretty sharply, once they finally woke up to the fact that we were in a Credit Crunch and a Financial Crisis.
