Two weeks ago, when this issue last flared up in the Commons, the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust was cancelling all non-urgent operations so as to be able to deal with the Crisis in A and E. I have spoken to people in the trust today and they say that the situation has eased a little in recent days but remains fragile.
