We on this side of the House hope that the contribution that Britain is making to support the humanitarian Crisis in East Africa will encourage others to act.
Could the Secretary of State tell us what money has been released from the central emergency response fund for the Crisis in East Africa?
In a week when the House has rightly been focused on the phone hacking scandal, there is of course an emerging humanitarian Crisis in East Africa, with thousands upon thousands of people without access to adequate food and water.
It is always easy to be wise after the event, but there is no reason why a potentially manageable Crisis in East Africa was allowed to become a catastrophe on such a monumental scale.
There is no more globally traded product group than food, so the Crisis in East Africa is our crisis.
