The Foreign Secretary thanked Mr. De Villepin for French assistance in evacuating British nationals caught up in the Crisis in Ivory Coast.

The Government are deeply concerned about the ongoing serious political Crisis in Ivory Coast, the risk of regional instability, and the humanitarian impact on those who have been displaced by the violence or otherwise affected.

While most eyes are on Libya, we should not forget the Crisis in Ivory Coast, where Laurent Gbagbo continues to cling to power.
