In the short time that is left I have the almost impossible task of trying to fix the attention of the Ministry of Education on a growing national Crisis in Our Educational System; but this matter is sufficiently important for me to attempt to discuss it even in the short time that is left.
My purpose is to draw the attention of public opinion outside the House to the nature of the Crisis in Our Educational System and to remind the public that the basic thing in all this is the need for a much greater expenditure on State education.
One of the causes of the present Crisis in Our Educational System is the abrupt changes of policy which occur upon changes of Government.
