At Christmas last year we all suddenly became aware of the dreadful Crisis in Romania when the horrors of the Ceausescu regime were made apparent after the revolution.

] Could we possibly find time for a debate on the Crisis in Romania, the appalling conditions in the orphanages there, and the problems faced by British couples who are trying to adopt handicapped Romanian orphans?

I have set out briefly some of the ways in which Britain arid the international community are moving to respond to the humanitarian Crisis in Romania; I have also explained what the Government are doing to assist British couples seeking to adopt children from Romania.
