What impact is the situation in Gaza expected to have on the delivery of aid and what support is being given urgently to address the humanitarian Crisis in the Gaza Strip and to speed up the delivery of food and medicine?

I quote from the al-Jazeera website: "The United Nations Security Council has abandoned efforts to adopt a statement on the Crisis in the Gaza Strip caused by an Israel's blockade after the Us refused to support it".

We can understand why Israel felt compelled to take action to protect her citizens from rocket attacks, but there can be no doubt that the war in Gaza has damaged prospects for peace in the middle east and Israel's hopes for permanent security along with it, and has caused an immense and continuing humanitarian Crisis in the Gaza Strip.
