And as he had the authority of the hon. and gallant Member for Truro (Captain Vivian) for saying that he did not intend to press his Motion to a division he (Mr. Grenfell) would move the Previous Question; and thus, without binding themselves in any way to the system of purchase for the future, they would simply decline, at such a Crisis of Parliament and the Constitution, to express any opinion on the subject.
