This country has an obligation to take a humanitarian and compassionate approach to resolving the Current and Acute Refugee Crisis not because we are bound by international law and bilateral or multilateral agreements, but because each of us - here in Parliament and across the British Isles - has a responsibility, with our European neighbours, to our fellow human beings to provide help and support to those in such desperate and dire need.
