Does the Minister realise that, because of the almost criminal reluctance of the Government to act upon imports, the Worst Dairy Crisis for many years is upon us and that, if he wishes to do anything, he must act soon and very quickly?

We were out meeting people, but we discussed in detail some of the issues that arose from the Dairy Crisis and the long-term solutions that are needed for the future.

Reshuffles are a brutal affair, and his successor, the new Minister, will want to strive to avoid Any Dairy Crisis in the future, as we all do, and we will try to work with him to prevent another crisis.

Name and shame was not a rip-roaring success this spring and summer in respect of the Dairy Crisis.

I begin by conveying an apology from my hon. Friendthe Member for Ogmore (Huw Irranca-Davies) who is currently on a shadow ministerial visit to Brussels, where he is discussing several topics, including the Ongoing Dairy Crisis, with European counterparts.

For that reason, the Government must respond to the Current Dairy Crisis by co-ordinating action by European officials to support dairy farmers and restore confidence in the industry.

The genesis of the dairy code, which was established on a voluntary basis in November 2012, was a Dairy Crisis that culminated in blockades, protests and a Minister leaving his post benighted but not delighted at his treatment.

We are working on the Dairy Crisis fund, and we aim to issue the majority of basic payment scheme payments in December and the vast majority by the end of January.
