Browsing through the abundant literature of protest against President Bush, it is a strange feeling for some of us who have lived through the age of Dictators and the Munich Crisis that there is so much thunder on the Left and passion in the liberal centre for policies that would preserve the most heinous illiberal regimes, and that it takes a Right-wing Republican American President to stand up for the unseating of criminal despots.
