Does she further agree that the simplest answer to the present Crisis in the Eec would be to take Britain out of the common agricultural policy?
In view of the fundamental nature of the Crisis in the Eec whereby they vote and we pay, and as many right hon. and hon. Members may wish to speak in Wednesday's debate, will my right hon. Friend consider extending the debate to two days, or, if many hon. Members are disappointed about not being called in the one-day debate, will he consider having a subsequent one?
I think that the Minister of State will admit that one of the problems over the years, particularly in the past five or six years, is that the Eec Crisis measures - when the BSC annual report refers to crisis measures, it is referring to the EEC steel quotas - have always affected our steel industry more than the industries of other member states.
We have been told that, because of the financial Crisis in the Eec, there will not be enough money in the budget for some time to implement such proposals.
