More people are out of work now than there were when this Prime Minister took office, and a growing number of food banks are now opening across the country - these are the most visible manifestation of the growing Crisis of Food Poverty in Britain.

I would like to draw attention to some of the fantastic things happening in Liverpool to address the Crisis of Food Poverty.

We will have an opportunity to vote on a motion on food banks later this afternoon, but Members can make a start in this debate by voting to repeal the cruel bedroom tax, which is one of the key causes of the Food Poverty Crisis we see in our country today.
