In conclusion, good work has been done in the Bill to provide the basis of speedy intervention in Any Future Banking Crisis.

The summit was particularly important for setting out the framework for a European Union response to Any Future Banking Crisis, and I welcome the agreement.

I rise to speak against the motion, not least because of the argument made by my hon. Friendthe Member for South Northamptonshire (Andrea Leadsom) that implicit in the motion is the suggestion that the Government have done nothing to avert a Future Banking Crisis.

I put to the Committee that exactly those sorts of capabilities ought to exist within Government for a Possible Future Banking Crisis.
