I believe that the General Crisis is one of Western capitalism, as I have said before, and we need long-term fundamental remedies for it, but we must have short-term remedies to deal with the immediate situation.

I emphasise that we are dealing with a distinctive style of fishing but, despite our specialness, we are constantly caught up in the General Crisis that affects the national fleet.

Does the Minister recognise that if a farmer goes to his bank manager and presents his books, the bank manager is likely to foreclose on the farmer unless he is aware that there is a General Crisis.

Although that issue is slightly different from that of sites of special scientific interest, it is certainly relevant to today's debate, and illustrates the General Crisis facing United Kingdom wildlife.

This is part and parcel of the General Crisis affecting NHS services throughout Hertfordshire.

I repeat that I do not underestimate the devastation of people's lives, but I would not describe it as a General Crisis, as the amendment seems to.
