The motion refers, among other things, to the growing Mortgage Crisis and to the need for a mortgage rescue scheme.

The Government are trying to introduce schemes that they hope will buy off the voter and somehow divert attention from the Mortgage Crisis.

In the interests of establishing the causes of the Present Mortgage Crisis, could the Prime Minister confirm that, as Minister of State for Social Security, he halved mortgage support for newly unemployed people and that, as Chancellor of the Exchequer, he put the mortgage rate up to its highest in history?

Although there is not a Mortgage Crisis in the city, the CAB is talking to the city council about mortgage rescue schemes and will work in partnership with it.
