We have come up with a proposal to bring extra cash into the system to enable this summer's Places Crisis to be eased, and we have proposed a discount for the earlier repayment of student loans.

The Crisis in Places is leading to price hikes that are making it increasingly unsustainable for parents to make ends meet, as the very powerful account from my hon. Friendthe Member for Barrow and Furness (John Woodcock) made clear.

That is the ideology that lies at the root of the Places Crisis that we are seeing today, and the attempts to blame the last Labour Government are a smokescreen.
