The review was set up to study and recommend ways of correcting the imbalance in the provision of public and private transport which has arisen since the 1968 Transport Act, as a result of inflation, changed patterns of demand, growth of the Private Car and the Energy Crisis Many valuable contributions have already been received from non-Government bodies.
