Early Crisis

Early Crisis management cannot depend on host nation support and over-flying rights, and maritime forces are likely to be the principal way to apply decisive influence and force in any early stages of a crisis.

We devalued our currency in 1949 and in 1967, we allowed for a big depreciation after the Crisis of the Early 1980s, and after the collapse of the exchange rate mechanism we recovered simply because we devalued our currency substantially to bring it into line with the needs of our economy.
