The Foreign Secretary has referred to the large amounts of aid given by the UK and the Us to help the Humanitarian Refugee Crisis in the middle east, but in a recent meeting the Jordanian interior Minister contrasted the amount committed by the UK and the Us to the amount actually delivered on the ground.

If we are not dealing directly with Assad or the Syrian regime, and in view of the importance of Iran in the region and the tentative but significant steps that have been taken on engagement with Iran on other issues, can the Minister tell the House to what extent we have engaged with the Iranian regime as regards what should be, objectively and neutrally, the priority for all of us, which is dealing with the Humanitarian Refugee Crisis?

Among the other great disservices of the past few weeks is what I can only assume is a deliberate strategy of conflating the Humanitarian Refugee Crisis with controls or lack of controls over immigration.
