It does not say that we have a Crisis in Tourism.
In 1989, the last year for which statistics are available, each overseas visitor to the United Kingdom brought £397 into this country, yet I am afraid that the Government have given the British Tourist Authority a derisory £800,000 to promote the United Kingdom out of the Tourism Crisis.
Is it not the case that the Government's handling of the Crisis in Tourism has been complacent and shambolic since the outset?
When will the Government provide the funds that are necessary to support the marketing of Britain abroad at this time of Crisis in Tourism?
It is obvious to all that there is a Crisis in Tourism at present due to the cumulative effects of foot and mouth disease since March and the terrorist attacks last month in the United States.
