They were all without the possibility of support or relief: they were obliged to deal with a Great Emergency and a Great Crisis with no help or resources at their command, and with no hope of having their resources increased.
This Bill is drastic and illiberal, and its only justification is the existence of an Emergency and a Crisis.
What I object to is that the Opposition are always willing to take powers for themselves, and automatically expect other people to support them, but they get very "sticky" when other people want powers on a very limited basis, to meet an Emergency and a Crisis.
If they were brought back to this country and trouble then occurred - the right hon. Gentleman speaks about an Emergency and a Possible Crisis - they could be transported to where they would be of some value.
We now find, following the Prime Minister's return to power, that we are confronted with an Emergency and a Crisis.
How can we seriously believe that the Government are treating the issue as an Emergency and a Crisis if they delay the publication of the report?
